11 – 14% Manganese

11-14% Manganese is a non-magnetic work hardening steel which is ideally suited to high impact and extreme wear.
In its supplied condition, Manganese steel has a hardness of approximately 200 Brinnel but when the material is
subjected to high levels of impact or severe wear in service, the hardness can increase up to approximately 600 Brinell.
This work-hardening capability renews itself throughout the materials in-service life. The underlying layers that are not
work-hardened maintain an excellent resistance to shock and a very high ductility.
Typical uses for Manganese Steel would be;
Shotblasting Cabinets, Security Doors, Anti Drill Plates, Magnetic Separators, Crusher Jaws and Impact Wear Liners.
